"On May 9, we celebrate the holiday of a united Europe. This Europe, founded in the middle of the last century by true visionaries who survived the horrors of the two world wars, division and great human suffering.

The Secretary General of the European People's Party (EPP), Antonio Lopez, said in an interview with "NEA" newspaper that he agrees with the initiative of the Greek government to take unilateral measures to alleviate citizens' energy costs in the absence of a coordinated European framework. Mr. Lopez visited Athens and spoke at the New Democracy Congress.

"I will come to Sofia as often as necessary in order to reach a decision (lifting the Bulgarian veto on North Macedonia's membership in the EU) by the end of June, we have no time, the war has shown us how important the European integration is."

However, it is still unclear whether the new Czech government - a centre-right coalition of five parties led by university professor Petr Fiala - will be truly devoted to and even equipped to deal with these challenging tasks, and what position it will take in the actual negotiations on these complex regional issues.

Paris – Foreign Minister Anže Logar attended the first ministerial forum on cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region organised by the French EU presidency on Tuesday. He noted the importance of good and sustainable integration between Europe and the Indo-Pacific, and also held two bilateral meetings, the Slovenian Foreign Ministry said.

The reform of the Schengen area must help EU countries create the necessary conditions for more effective control of external borders.
