Negre: EIB planning to invest around 375 mln euros in Serbia

BELGRADE - The European Investment Bank (EIB) will invest around 375 mln euros in Serbia, primarily in infrastructure, EIB Director for the Western Balkans Dubravka Negre said Monday.

She announced projects to modernise the Nis-Dimitrovgrad rail line and build a Nis bypass road and a gas interconnection between Serbia and Bulgaria.

Former finance minster Mramor tells inquiry TEŠ 6 major risk

Appearing before the inquiry looking into political responsibility for the ballooning cost of unit 6 of the Šoštanj coal-fired power plant (TEŠ), Mramor said that by the time he started serving his second term in 2014, neither him nor the government had any leverage any more to streamline the project.

EIB signs financing contract with Pancretan Bank

Pancretan Bank on Thursday signed a 50-million-euro contract with the European Investment Bank for the funding of small and medium-sized enterprises, in the context of the EIB's Jobs for Youth initiative.

EIB Vice-President Jonathan Taylor said: "EIB remains committed to supporting the real economy, as well as continuing to invest in young people."
