MEP Eduard Kukan of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats (S&D) bloc arrived in Tirana on Monday in the wake of last week's visit by Knut Fleckenstein of the European People's Party (EPP) bloc in an attempt to negotiate a solution that will see Albania's opposition return to parliament.

Ruling SNS party to apply for EPP status

BELGRADE -- The Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) will apply for the role of an associate member or observer in the European People's Party (EPP), says Jadranka Joksimovic.

Joksimovic is SNS international secretary and minister in charge of EU integration in the current government.

EU Foreign Ministers agreed to delay the issue of Macedonia's EU accession to  later in 2015, once they are updated by the European Commission on the progress of its relations with neighbouring Greece and Bulgaria.
