European People's Party
The summit of the local and regional leaders of the European People's Party, attended by President Klaus Iohannis, has started at Romexpo Exhibition Centre on Saturday. According to the PNL (National Liberal Party), more than 150 mayors and regional leaders from Europe, as well as about 3,000 local elected representatives from Romania, participate in the meeting.
A summit meeting of local and regional leaders of the European People's Party (EPP), including over 150 mayors and regional leaders from Europe, as well as about 3,000 Romanian local officeholders will be held in Bucharest on Saturday, according to the National Liberal Party (PNL).
Conservative New Democracy leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis said that he will ask for the populist Fidesz party of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban to be ejected from the center-right European People's Party (EPP), to which they both belong, during comments at the Delphi Economic Forum, where he described Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras as an Orban equivalent.
In a nod to New Democracy chief Kyriakos Mitsotakis, the leader of the European People's Party (EPP) said on Thursday that Greece could be granted smaller primary surplus targets if he is elected president of the European Commission in May on the condition that the country has a growth-friendly government.
