Greek airline Sky Express partners with Qatar Airways

Greek airline Sky Express said on Thursday it had signed an agreement with Qatar Airways to cooperate on flights connecting Doha with the Greek islands, in a boost to the country's key tourism industry.

Tourism accounts for about a quarter of economic output in Greece, which saw a record number of about 33 million visitors last year.

Companies moving to fill void created by Adria Airways

The management of struggling air carrier Adria Airways filed for receivership after the government said it was not ready to invest in the carrier under the current owner and in its current financial state. On news of the receivership proposal, the Civil Aviation Agency stripped the airline of its operating licence and all flights have been cancelled.

Swiss Airline Grounded 29 Airbus Aircraft due to Technical Problems

Swiss International Air Lines stopped the flights of 29 Airbus A220 aircraft due to engine problems. This was reported by NOVA.

The reason for the decision was the incident on Tuesday of a flight by the company from London to Geneva, which was redirected to Paris due to technical problems.

Govt gives up on Adria, carrier files for receivership

The Kranj District Court is to decide on the proposal within three days. All Adria flights scheduled have been cancelled and the airline's operating license revoked.

The flag carrier, which was sold by the state to the German turnaround fund 4K Invest in 2016, wrote that the proposal had been filed due to insolvency and in line with legal provisions applying for such a situation.

In its first two years of operation, ticketing platform Ferryhopper has managed to establish significant partnerships and compete with far more established operators.
Its latest partnership, with Aegean Airlines, is Book-a-Ferry, an online platform that offers Aegean passengers shipping routes where there is no airline connection.

The agreement signed on Wednesday with T.N. Aegean Sun Investments Ltd signals the transfer of the entire Afandou property to private investors.
