BELGRADE - Compared to other European countries, Serbia has gone far in implementing the Decade of Roma, Nenad Ivanisevic, president of the government council for improvement of the position of the Roma and the Decade of Roma Inclusion, said on Monday.
Romania's Roma Strategy Draws Cool Response
The centre-left government of Prime Minister Victor Ponta has approved a new five-year strategy designed to bring about the social inclusion of members of the marginalised Roma community.
It aims to address key issues related to education, health, employment and housing for this impoverished section of society.

Roma still most discriminated group in Serbia
BELGRADE -- Much has been done over the past years to improve the position of Roma, who, however, continue to face prominent discrimination, the equality commissioner says.
This minority is discriminated against when it comes to employment, education, health care and housing, Nevena Petrušić stated on Monday.
