CITUB Proposes 60/40 Job Retention Scheme to Become 75/100

The Confederation of Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria (CITUB) proposes that the 60/40 job retention scheme (where the government pays 60 per cent of the wage bill and the employer, 40 per cent) become 75/100, CITUB Executive Secretary Asya Goneva commented for BTA on Monday ahead of this week's meeting of the National Council for Tripartite Cooperation that will focus on this measure.

Pay Gap: Women in Bulgaria Paid 14 Percent Less than Men

"Women in Bulgaria receive salaries which are an average of 14% lower than the salaries of men. This places the country within the "golden mean" among the other countries members of the EU," Ivaylo Dinev from the Institute for Social and Trade Union Research of the Confederation of Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria (CITUB) said for the BNR.

Bulgaria: Nearly 380,000 Unemployed Registered in February-December 2020

The newly registered unemployed across Bulgaria were a little under 380,000 between February 3 and the end of December 2020, according to the latest data of the specialized weekly labour market survey of the National Statistical Institute and the Employment Agency occasioned by Covid-19 pandemic. Over the same period, 235,000 people have found jobs through the labour offices.

Employers' associations, unions demand gov't to confer with social partners before adopting PNRR

Several employers' associations and trade unions have sent an open letter to the Government asking for consultation with the social partners before the adoption of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), according to a joint release issued on Monday by eight employers' and trade union organizations.
