Greek industrial producer prices post EU’s highest growth
Greece boasted the highest increase in industrial producer prices in March among European Union members, while Cyprus saw the second sharpest decline, Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union, said on Friday.
Almost 350,000 Bulgarians Are Self-Employed
342,000 Bulgarians are self-employed with a total of 3 million and one hundred and eighty-eight thousand employed, according to the data of the European Statistical Office Eurostat for 2018. Year-on-year, those who work for themselves dropped by 7,000. A total of 32 million Europeans are self-employed.

About 1% of the Population in Bulgaria are Citizens of non-EU Countries
As of January 1, 2018, around 71,000 citizens from non-EU countries resided in Bulgaria, accounting for about 1 percent of the Bulgarian population of 7,050,000 at that date. This shows data from a Eurostat analysis of migration processes in the countries of the Community as of 1 January 2018.

Bulgaria is in the last three countries of the European Union (EU) with the lowest share of innovative enterprises in the Union, according to data from Eurostat analysis of the survey of community innovations in 2017. In Bulgaria only 27% of the total share of enterprises develop some effective innovation activity, with an average EU indicator of 51% of high-tech enterprises.
Greeks least likely in EU to visit doctor, data show
Greeks are the least likely to visit a doctor compared to their counterparts in the European Union, according to 2017 data compiled by the European statistics agency (Eurostat).
More specifically, Eurostat's report, released on Monday, said that 60.5 percent of Greeks had not had a doctor's checkup in the 12 months prior to the survey.
Turkey outperforms EU in women's participation in science
The ratio of Turkish women to men in the areas of science, technology, engineering, health, and research and development has surpassed that of the European Union's, according to figures released on Feb. 11 by Eurostat, the statistical office of the union in Luxembourg.
Eurostat: 53% of Scientists and Engineers in Bulgaria Are Women
In five EU Member States, the majority of scientists and engineers are women, according to Eurostat data published today for 2017.
Lithuania is ranked first, with 57% of the scientists being ladies, with 53% following Bulgaria and Latvia. In Portugal, the share is 51 per cent and in Denmark just over 50 per cent, the BNR reported.
