Six months after a devastating earthquake, Turkey’s preparedness is still uncertain

Dust and rubble fill the street as an excavator tears off chunks of concrete from an old apartment building. Bystanders and former residents watch from afar as construction equipment tears down the structure. Among the bystanders is Ibrahim Ozaydin, 30, a former resident. He watches the demolition not with worry, but with relief, as his building was marked by officials as unsafe months ago.

"I did not sign the law on expropriation, and I did sign the law on the referendum when I returned from Sochi," said Vui during a tour of the works on the Milo Veliki highway in aak.
"I'm waiting for a lawyer's opinion," he explained.
Speaking about the incident in Sabac, Vui said that the driver of the excavator did not injure anyone and is currently in the hospital.

Giant swastika discovered under Hamburg sports field! (video)

An enormous swastika was discovered by construction workers at a sports field in Hamburg on Tuesday. Excavators were preparing the foundations for new changing rooms at Billstedt-Horn sports club when they unearthed a four-by-four meter concrete swastika. The sports club believes that this is all that remains of a Nazi-era monument which once stood next to the playing field.

Bulgaria's Energoremont Signs Equipment Rehab Deal with Mini Maritsa Iztok

Bulgarian engineering company Energoremont Holding  said on Wednesday that, in a partnership with Sofia-based Balgarska Energetika and Germany's ABB Automation, it has signed a contract with local miner Mini Maritsa Iztok for the rehabilitation of three bucket chain excavators, according to See news. 

Albanian authorities completely demolish Orthodox church in Chimarra at night! (pics)

The Albanian council of Chimarra completed the demolition of the Orthodox church of St. Athanasius in the village of Drymades under the cover of the night. Around 4 am in the morning the Albanian Urban Police arrived at the remains of the church and ordered the excavators and bulldozers to finish off the job.

One Dead after Bulgaria Mine Collapse

A worker has died after the Erma Reka mine collapsed in Southern Bulgaria, the public broadcaster BNT reports.

Another has been injured in the incident that occurred Wednesday night.

Zarko Hadzhiev, Mayor of the adjacent Erma Reka village, told the Bulgarian National Radio on Thursday that the victim as an excavator, and not a miner.
