Romanian Authorities Detained a Bulgarian Man who Tried to Import 1,000 Packs of Cigarettes to Romania

A 39-year-old Bulgarian citizen has been charged with trafficking in excise goods after he was detained by the Romanian Border Police at Giurgiu-Ruse border checkpoint in an attempt to import 1,000 packs of cigarettes with Bulgarian excise label to Romania, BTA reported.

About 1 300 000 Pieces of Smuggled Cigarettes Were Seized in July by the Customs Officers of the MP Kapitan Andreevo

In July, customs officers from the Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation and the Southern Maritime Territorial Directorate detained 1,280,000 pieces / 64,000 boxes / duty-free cigarettes, 102 kg of smoking tobacco and 51 kg of hookah tobacco.

Bulgarian Customs Officers Seized 800 Liters of Diesel

Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate General seized 7,690 liters of energy products with diesel fuel at three separate inspections in Burgas and Yambol.

During a warehouse inspection in Burgas, customs officers came across two plastic faucets and 114 plastic tubes containing a total of 2090 liters of yellowish liquid with diesel fuel characteristics.

380 kg of Smuggled Tobacco Were Seized in Vidin

380 kg of cut tobacco without excise labels was seized by policemen from Vidin in the course of a specialised operation under the "Excise" line.

On July 19, at 19.45 pm in the town of Dimovo, uniforms stopped Opel Zafira  with Pleven registrated in Pleven for a check. The car was driven by a 59-year-old man from Pleven.

25 200 Cigarettes Without an Excise Band were Found in Kyustendil

Тhe press center of the MoI Directorate announced that 25 200 cigarettes without an excise band were found in a car in Kyustendil. Tobacco smugglers were found by law enforcement officers during an inspection.

The vehicle was driven by a 28-year-old woman. She is detained for 24 hours with a police order. A pre-trial proceedings have been initiated in the District of Kyustendil.
