Police fear the Manchester suicide bomber may have made a second bomb, after raids on his home uncovered a stash of chemical explosives, it has been reported, The Independent writes.

Efforts to clear mines have been launched on Mount Ararat in the eastern province of Iğdır as part of a project financed by the European Union and Turkey in cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). 

Two war grenades and other explosive devices have been found in out of the old buildings of Alexandrovska hospital, not far from the center of Sofia, media report.

The area has been sealed off by police, the Bulgarian National Radio reports.

A specialized anti-terror squad is on the site.

BELGRADE - A Serbian sapper unit conducted a controlled detonation of a World War II-era aerial bomb in Belgrade on Sunday, the Serbian Interior Ministry said.

"The aerial bomb was successfully defused," the ministry said in a statement.

BELGRADE - Ten people have been arrested in the Apatin and Sombor areas for selling, distributing and using various arms, and a large quantity of weapons has been found, Serbian Interior Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic said Wednesday.

An improvised explosive device (IED) went off at 112 Ippokratous St, in Exarchia, in downtown Athens, Wednesday, at 11.45pm causing material damage. The blast occurred in the main entrance of a building block where “Elefhteri Skeci” bookstore is located which had come under attack in 2008 with petrol bombs.

A new United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) project to clear Turkey's eastern borders of land mines was launched on April 4, International Land Mine Awareness Day, at a hotel in Ankara with the participation of Defense Minister ?smet Y?ld?z.

More than 9,000 people have been killed since the conflict in Ukraine began 20 months ago, the United Nations said Dec. 9, warning that even though fighting had abated, millions were in precarious situations.
