Reflections on the US Embassy

I recently attended a lecture at the Hellenic Institute of Architecture by Alexandros K. Samaras, an architect and longtime chairman of the Hellenic-American Educational Foundation's Board of Directors, on Walter Gropius and his mid-1950s design for the US Embassy in Athens.

Guided by the method of the expressionism, the academic artist Trajce Catmov at the exhibition "Creativity and Misery", presents before the audience canvasses on which he painted the experiences of the essence of the human emotional aspect.

He completely abstracts himself from the visual realm of the reality, and abandons every usual thing which the normal eye tends not to notice.

Louvre Abu Dhabi to open in November

The Louvre Abu Dhabi will finally open its doors to the public in November, bringing to the Gulf Mesopotamian artifacts and post-impressionist masterpieces in the first Louvre-branded museum outside of Paris.

Housing 600 works of art, including 300 loaned by 13 French museums for the inaugural year, the Louvre Abu Dhabi is described as the "first universal museum" in the Arab world.
