Greece rejects asylum requests by three Turkish soldiers

Greece has rejected asylum requests from three of a group of eight Turkish soldiers who fled there after the failed coup attempt in Turkey in July, police sources said on Wednesday.

Turkey has formally sought the men's extradition, calling them "traitors" and "terrorist elements".

The soldiers deny involvement in the coup.

KTB Majority Owner to Appear in Belgrade Court over Extradition Case

Tsvetan Vasilev, the majority owner of insolvent Corporate Commercial Bank (Corpbank KTB), is to appear before the Belgrade High Court on Wednesday.

Vasilev is facing an extradition request from Bulgaria, which has been seeking to indict him with charges of embezzling BGN 206 M from his own bank.

The Supreme Court of Serbia is to interrogate Tsvetan Vasilev, the majority shareholder at insolvent Corporate Commercial Bank (Corpbank or KTB), in relation to an extradition request from Bulgaria.

Vasilev left Bulgaria in the summer of 2014, in the days around the collapse of KTB which was placed under special supervision by central bank BNB following a bank run on June 20, 2014.

Germany to ease deportation rules after Cologne attacks

Germany will make it easier to deport criminal foreigners following public outrage over the New Year's Eve assaults in Cologne, officials said on Jan. 12.

"With this proposal we are significantly lowering the hurdles for the possible expulsion of foreigners who have committed crimes in Germany," Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere told reporters in Berlin.
