Spain re-imposes masks in hospitals as flu cases surge

Wearing masks will be obligatory again in Spain's hospitals and other healthcare facilities from Wednesday, the health ministry said on Monday as the country faces a flu outbreak.

The decree was announced after a meeting between the health ministry and representatives of the country's regions, who control their own health systems.

Minister refutes ‘return of face masks’ allegations

Highly anticipated Science Board meeting postponed

The Health Ministry's Science Board, which advises the government on COVID-19, postponed its highly anticipated meeting for a week.

Board members were supposed to discuss on Feb.23 the fight against the pandemic and reconsider anti-virus measures.

"The press release regarding the measures will be issued on March 1," the Health Ministry said.

Vaccinated Small Business Personnel without Mandatory Masks from Today

As of today, vaccinated employees against COVID-19 will not be required to wear masks at their workplaces, according to an Order by Health Minister Stoycho Katsarov signed on Tuesday (July 6th).

However, this Order revoked same relief for cured employees who were ill and they should continue to wear masks.
