Turkish man aims for Guinness world record with three-ton döner kebab
One Turkish man says he is determined to make it into the book of Guinness World Records by accomplishing his life-long dream of “making” the biggest döner kebab in the world, weighing three tons. Hakan Soysal, at 42-year-old father of three from the Central Anatolian province of Sivas, has already been accepted as a pre-nominee to the list, Doğan News Agency reported on Feb. 7.
Vegan Burger Added to the Menu at McDonald's in Europe
Following successful tests, McDonald's in Sweden and Finland are putting a vegan burger on their menu.
Consisting of a soy patty, bun, lettuce, pickles, onion, mustard, oil and an egg-free sauce, the vege-based sandwich would be rolled out December 28.
However, the vegan alternative would not be coming to New Zealand, a local spokesman confirmed.

The European Parliament may veto the European Commission's legislative proposal to allow the use of phosphate additives in frozen meat (including Döners) because of health concerns. Serious concerns about the health effects of phosphates used as food supplements were expressed by members of the EP's Public Health and Food Safety Committee, reports actualno.
