Gov’t to revise its benefits policy, eyeing targeted measures

The government is expected to present its revised benefits policy in the summer.

With no budgetary room to increase the sum offered, it is eyeing the optimum targeting of social groups where the biggest problem is found: Single-parent families, single-person households, as well as under-18s.

24,000 applications for Youth Pass on first day

Authorities have said that they received 24,000 applications for the Youth Pass in 16 hours.

The platform, which opened Thursday morning, concerns the financial assistance of €150 to approximately 200,000 young people aged 18 and 19.

The pass comes in the form of a digital debit card which beneficiaries can use for services in the fields of culture, tourism and transport.

Households experience rise in income over past year

Ljubljana – More than a quarter of Slovenian households have seen their incomes rise over the past year, while the share of households that have had problems paying their housing costs has also increased, shows a report by the Statistics Office. Meanwhile, 18% of households struggled to make ends meet with their income.

The average monthly insurance income for the country for the last year is 945,00 BGN.

The determined average monthly social security income for the country for the indicated period serves in calculating the amount of newly granted pensions in August this year.
