EC Approves 4 New Promotion Programmes for Bulgarian Agri Products

The European Commission has approved four Bulgarian programmes to promote several of the country's agricultural products both inside and outside the EU.

Bulgaria will contribute EUR 50,000 to the EU Emergency Trust Fund for Africa, which seeks to tackle the root causes of migration.

The EUR 1.8 B fund, which was launched by European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker on Thursday, is aimed at providing stability and addressing the root causes of irregular migration and displaced persons in Africa.

Government spokesperson denies plans for elections

Government spokesperson Olga Gerovasili denied rumours that the elections would be held any time soon, adding that talks of elections was not beneficial. In a written statement Gerovasili said the government’s priority was to complete a deal with EU institutions and to implements the July 12 EU-19 Summit agreement.

EU Commissioner for Energy Union Maros Sefcovic to Visit Bulgaria on September 15

European Commission Vice-President in charge of Energy Union Maros Sefcovic is to visit Bulgaria on September 15.

The visit of Sefcovic to Bulgaria will be part of his Energy Union Tour, which was launched in May.

During the tour, he is visiting the member states of the EU to present the benefits of the union to each country.
