Federica Mogherini reminded the European public that support for European integration in the Balkans is enormous, reported NOVA TV. 

Prior to the start of the EU summit in Sibiu, EU foreign policy and security chief Federica Mogherini sent a message to the European public about the importance of integrating the Western Balkans into the Union.

"They are saying impossible things and have accustomed the whole Europe to that," the Serbian president said in Tirana after his meeting with EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini late on Wednesday.

The meeting will be organized by German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron.

Speaking for Belgrade's Vercernje Novosti daily, Maja Kocijancic made the comment after it has been hinted that Germany, and France, in particular, could assume an active role in the process.

Cyprus' foreign ministry says Turkey's bid to drill for natural gas in waters where the island nation has exclusive economic rights is a "flagrant violation" of its sovereignty under international law.

The ministry in a statement on Saturday says the bid shows Turkey's "real intentions" of undermining efforts to restart talks aimed at reunifying the ethnically divided country.

Later in the day a summit on the Western Balkans will be held there, organized by Germany and France, Anglela Merkel and Emmanuel Macron.

According to the Belgrade newspaper, pressure on both sides should be expected at the meeting in on April 29 that will be attended by Aleksandar Vucic and Hashim Thaci - as European officials have set a goal - to finish the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue by October, that is, by the time a new European Commission is formed.

European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini expects North Macedonia and Albania to start negotiations for accession to the European Union in June.

,,States must not allow their territory to be used for malicious actions using new technologies.'' This is stated in a statement by the EU High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security Federica Mogherini.

,,The EU encourages an open and secure cyberspace that respects human rights, fundamental freedoms and the rule of law'', she notes. 

In the summer of 2018, the prime ministers of Greece and the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Alexis Tsipras and Zoran Zaev respectively, signed the historical Prespes agreement, whereby FYROM would be renamed North Macedonia.
