The United States will Send More than 5,200 Troops to the Border with Mexico

The United States will send more than 5,200 troops to the border with Mexico because of the increased influx of refugees from Central America.

The Pentagon said the forces would be deployed by the end of the week with weapons, helicopters, airplanes, barriers, and barbed wire to help border patrols.

Bulgarian IntMin Hopes Fence at Border with Turkey to be Completed in March

Bulgarian Interior Minister Rumyana Bachvarova expressed hope that the main facilities of the fence at the border with Turkey will be completed by the end of March.

Bachvarova said this during a parliamentary question and answer session on Friday, daily Dnevnik informs.

Bulgaria's 131km Border Fence Plan May Trigger Infringement Procedure

The 131km fence which Bulgaria plans to build at the Turkish border may lead to an infringement procedure against the country, according to Michail Ekimdzhiev.

In a Wednesday interview for the Bulgarian National Radio, human rights lawyer Ekimdzhiev said that the statement of caretaker Prime Minister Georgi Bliznashki was inappropriate for any European politician.

Bulgarian Army Spent BGN 1 M for Fence at Border with Turkey

So far the Bulgarian army has spent BGN 1 M on the construction of the 30-km fence at the border with Turkey, reports the Trud daily. 

One third of the sum has been spent on petrol and diesel, according to the reports, presented by Defence Minister Angel Naidenov. 

According to him, so far have been completed 9 km of the fence.
