Struggling Fenerbahçe seeks salvation on European stage

Fenerbahçe will be searching for a much-needed victory when it hosts Russian club Krasnodar in the second leg of a Europa League round of 32 clash.

Having lost last week's game in Russia 1-0, the home side will need at least a two-goal victory on Feb. 22 to advance to the next round and give its angry fans something to cheer about.

Tudor set for first test with Galatasaray

Spor Toto Super League club Galatasaray will travel to Çaykur Rizespor on Feb. 18 for its first test under new coach Igor Tudor.

The former Croatian international left his post at Karabükspor and signed a one-and-a-half year contract on Feb. 16 to replace Dutch coach Jan Olde Riekerink.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Tudor said he was aware of the pressure awaiting him. 

Beşiktaş chairman apologizes for wrongdoings in derby of brawls

Beşiktaş chairman Firket Orman has "apologized for any wrongdoings" committed by his club during the Feb. 5 Ziraat Turkey Cup game against Fenerbahçe, which was marked by brawls and on-pitch violence. 

"I apologize to everyone for our wrongdoings in the derby," Orman said on Feb. 7 at a ceremony marking a new jersey deal with Vodafone. 

Kayserispor scores four to dent Fenerbahçe's title dreams

Kayserispor, which is fighting against relegation, dealt a major blow to Fenerbahçe's dreams of winning the Spor Toto Super League title on Jan. 29 when it destroyed the Istanbul club 4-1 at home.

Turkish international striker Umut Bulut put the home side ahead in the 32nd minute at the Kadir Has Stadium, while Fenebrhaçe leveled the game in the 41st through Mehmet Topal.

Leader Başakşehir in big title race test against Fenerbahçe

Super Toto Super League leader Medipol Başakşehir, a giant killer turned title contender, is set to pay a crucial - if not historic - visit to Fenerbahçe on Jan. 22.

Başakşehir tops the standings with 39 points from 17 weeks so far and is the sole unbeaten team in the league. 

However, coach Abdullah Avcı still avoids speaking of a title challenge and remains cautious.
