Turkish teams learn opponents for Europa League knockout round
Turkish teams were dealt a mixed bag of opponents for the round of 32 in the Europa League when the knockout round draw was staged in Nyon, Switzerland, on Dec. 12.
6,087 workers killed in last five years, TESK chair Palandöken says
Some 6,087 workers have been killed on the job in the last five years in Turkey, according to Confederation of Merchants and Craftsmen (TESK) chair Bendevi Palandöken.
"These accidents are occurring due to both faults by employers and employees," Palandöken said in a statement issued on Dec. 4, adding that work accidents were increasing year by year.
Fenerbahçe, Beşiktaş share the spoils in derby
An Istanbul derby between Fenerbahçe and Beşiktaş in the Spor Toto Super League ended in a goalless draw late on Dec. 3, with the visiting side Beşiktaş maintaining its unbeaten record this season in all competitions.

Fenerbahçe challenges undefeated Beşiktaş
A rising Fenerbahçe, which has won its last eight games, will host historic rival Beşiktaş on Dec. 3 looking to maintain an 11-year undefeated record in derby games.
Beşiktaş, meanwhile, is out to extend its unbeaten run in three competitions - the Spor Toto Super League, Champions League and the Ziraat Turkey Cup.

Fener, Osmanlı looking for qualification
Turkey's Fenerbahçe can advance to the round of 32 in the UEFA Europa League with a game to spare with the right combination of results on matchday five when it welcomes Ukraine's Zorya Luhansk, while Osmanlıspor can also make it to the next round if it beats Romania's Steaua București away.

Fenerbahçe beats Galatasaray in Istanbul derby
Fenerbahçe defeated arch-rival Galatasaray 2-0 in a derby on Nov. 20 in the Spor Toto Super League at its Şükrü Saraçoğlu Stadium in Istanbul to continue its recent renaissance.
The Yellow Canaries opened the scoring on the stroke of half-time through Dutch forward Robin van Persie.

Galatasaray out to break Kadıköy jinx
Galatasaray wants to end a 17-year jinx when it travels to the Asian side of Istanbul for a Spor Toto Super League game on Nov. 20.
The club's last victory at the Şükrü Saraçoğlu Stadium was in 1999, when it beat Fenerbahçe 2-1 in a league game on Dec. 22, and has not been able to win in the 20 official games at the venue since.

Two new universities to open in Istanbul
Turkey's parliament approved the creation of two new universities in Istanbul on late Nov. 16, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.
The two new universities will be named Fenerbahçe University and Ayvansaray University.

Having lost 4-1 two weeks ago in Manchester, Fenerbahçe produced a stunning performance capped by a brilliant Moussa Sow bicycle-kick goal and a Jeremain Lens free-kick.
