Fenerbahçe beat city rivals Galatasaray 87-73

Fenerbahçe Beko defeated Galatasaray 87-73 in the Istanbul derby for the 12th win of the season in the ING Basketball Super Lig on Jan. 2.

Marko Guduric finished with 18 points while Jan Vesely and Dyshawn Pierre each scored 15 points for the away side in the Week 15 game at the Sinan Erdem.

For the home team, Brock Motum and R. J. Hunter each played with 15 points.

Beşiktaş to face Alanyaspor for 4th successive win

Beşiktaş seek their fourth consecutive win in the Süper Lig as they will face the leaders Aytemiz Alanyaspor on Dec. 13.

Alanyaspor surprised fans with remarkable from this season to top the league with 23 points, however they lost their last matches, unable to increase the gap between title chasers Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray.

Fenerbahçe football team announce 2 COVID-19 cases

One player and a technical staff member at Fenerbahçe tested positive for COVID-19, the Super Lig club announced on Aug. 13. 

The Turkish club said treatment began for those infected.

The team did not disclose the identities of the infected but said they have been isolated at home.

Fenerbahçe to face Trabzonspor in Turkish Cup

Football club Fenerbahçe will host Trabzonspor on June 16 in the second leg of Turkish Cup semifinals.

The game will be played at 8.45 p.m. local time (1745GMT) at the Ülker Stadium, Fenerbahçe's home ground,.

The Black Sea Storm defeated Yellow Canaries 2-1 in the first leg game in March to gain an advantage score at home.

Fenerbahçe takes measures against virus in stadium

Turkish football giant Fenerbahçe is gearing up for matches in line with coronavirus-related measures.

"@ulkerstadyumu is preparing for the matches we will play. We take our precautions against coronavirus," Fenerbahçe said on Twitter.

In line with measures announced by the Turkish Football Federation (TFF), two seats will be left empty on each bench.

Turkish clubs to have cardboard fans in stands

Clubs are seeking alternative ways to generate income from selling seats for cardboard cutouts in the stands to selling protective face masks, as the Turkish Süper Lig is set to resume on June 12 behind closed doors.

Three major Istanbul clubs, Beşiktaş, Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray, have launched campaigns for their supporters to have their photos on cardboards in seats.

Turkish Super Lig to resume on June 12

The Turkish Football Federation announced on May 28 that the top-tier Super Lig games will resume on June 12.

The federation said that all preparations were completed after the decision to restart the matches on June 12 was taken "with a joint agreement and request of the federation and 18 Super Lig clubs" to complete the remaining part
of the season.

Another Fenerbahçe staffer tests positive for virus

An employee working for Turkish football club Fenerbahçe tested positive for coronavirus on May 12 as positive cases rose to two.

"Our employee who tested positive was taken into home isolation and started medication," Fenerbahçe said in a statement on its website.

The Istanbul club stated that it tested every person in the training facility including players on May 11.
