Fenerbahçe employee tests positive for COVID-19 

An employee for Fenerbahce tested positive for the new coronavirus on May 7, forcing the Turkish Super Lig club to cancel training on May 8. 

The Istanbul club tested all football players, technical staff and club personnel but results showed someone working at the team's premises was positive for COVID-19.

Another employee is suspected of having the virus.

Ex-Fenerbahçe player Radomir Antic dies at 71

Turkish Super Lig club Fenerbahçe confirmed on April 6 that former player Radomir Antic passed away at 71.

"We have learned with great sadness the death of our former player Radomir Antic who sweated the striped jersey and played an important role in the championship we won in the 1977-78 season," the Istanbul club said on Twitter.

Trabzonspor beat Fenerbahçe 2-1 in Turkish Cup semis

Trabzonspor beat Fenerbahçe 2-1 on March 3 in the first leg game of the Ziraat Turkish Cup semifinals to gain a slight advantage at home.

In the match on Trabzonspor's home ground, Şenol Güneş Stadium, Alexander Sorloth scored the host's opening goal in the 46th minute, followed by Filip Novak scoring their second goal in the 66th minute.

Galatasaray end 20-year curse, beat Fenerbahçe 3-1 away

It has been more than 20 years since Galatasaray last saw a derby victory at archrivals Fenerbahçe's stadium.

It ended on Feb. 23 night, Galatasaray won 3-1 after an eventful derby in Turkish Super Lig.

At Fenerbahçe's stadium, Ulker, Fenerbahçe managed to evade Galatasaray's strong start to the match, eventually finding the leading goal after a penalty decision.

Galatasaray wins to climb up in league standings

Defending Turkish Süper Lig champion Galatasaray has moved a step closer to the top spot in the standings with a 3-0 win over city neighbor Kasımpaşa in a Week 21 game.

Adem Büyük scored a double for the visiting side in the 22nd and 41st minutes in the game on Feb. 9.

Having won its fifth league game in a row, Galatasaray climbed up to the fifth spot with 39 points.

Fenerbahçe beat Zenit for third straight EuroLeague win

Fenerbahçe Beko defeated Russia's Zenit for a third straight win on Feb. 6 in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague.

French point guard Leo Westermann was a high scorer for Fenerbahçe Beko with 13 points in the 73-68 win at Yubileyny Sports Palace of St Petersburg.

The Yellow-Canaries trio of Kostas Sloukas, Jan Vesely and Luigi Datome combined for 34 points for the Istanbul team.
