Fenerbahçe employee tests positive for COVID-19 

An employee for Fenerbahce tested positive for the new coronavirus on May 7, forcing the Turkish Super Lig club to cancel training on May 8. 

The Istanbul club tested all football players, technical staff and club personnel but results showed someone working at the team's premises was positive for COVID-19.

Another employee is suspected of having the virus.

Former Turkish footballer ‘Kadıköy bull’ sues clothing brand for ‘stealing’ his logo

Former Fenerbahçe football club player Serhat Akın has filed a lawsuit against Akbulut, the Turkish extension of the Denmark-based Hummel clothing brand, for selling products with the logo of a bull accompanied by the phrase “Kadıköy bull,” which he claims as his own nickname.

Fenerbahçe chairman fined, barred from games after striking rival

The head of a major Istanbul sports club was fined 40,000 Turkish Liras ($11,162) on May 8 by the Turkish Basketball Federation for slapping a rival during a match on May 7.        

The federation's disciplinary board also ruled Fenerbahçe Sports Club Chairman Aziz Yıldırım would be banned from games for six months.        

Fenerbahçe challenges undefeated Beşiktaş

A rising Fenerbahçe, which has won its last eight games, will host historic rival Beşiktaş on Dec. 3 looking to maintain an 11-year undefeated record in derby games.

Beşiktaş, meanwhile, is out to extend its unbeaten run in three competitions - the Spor Toto Super League, Champions League and the Ziraat Turkey Cup. 

Fener finds courage in 5-0 win

Istanbul's Fenerbahçe found some relief in a stunning 5-0 win against a strong Kardemir Karabükspor on Oct. 30 at home, following a historically bad start to the Turkish league.

Fener coach Dick Advocaat was happy with the win but poor attendance at the game bothered the experienced Dutchman. 

Plane with Fenerbahçe players onboard makes emergency landing

A plane transporting members of Fenerbahçe was forced to make an emergency landing in Hungary on Oct. 19 after a crack appeared in the front window, the club said.

The club said in a statement that the plane made an emergency landing after it collided with a bird, adding that the situation was not worrying.

Europa-worn teams to clash in Turkish league

Osmanlıspor and Fenerbahçe will clash this weekend in the Spor Toto Super League, immediately on the heels of separate Europa League clashes on Sept. 29.
Fenerbahçe left the Şükrü Saraçoğlu pitch in Istanbul happy after beating Feyenoord 1-0 while Osmanlıspor left its unbeaten record in Zurich, losing 2-1 to the home side.
