Economists expect rise in Turkey's February inflation

Turkey's annual inflation rate is projected to rise to 15.45% in February, an Anadolu Agency survey found on Feb. 26. 

Turkey's annual inflation rate in January was 14.97%, up 0.37 percentage points from the previous month.

The Turkish Statistical Institute will announce February's consumer prices index on March 3 Wednesday.

Turkey’s annual inflation rate at 14.97% in January

Turkey posted a 14.97% annual rise in consumer prices in January, the country's statistical authority announced on Feb. 3. 

The annual figure was up 0.37 percentage points last month, rising from 14.60% in December 2020, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK).

The inflation rate in January 2020 stood at 12.15%, data showed.

LabMin Turcan: Minimum wage to be indexed, pensions to be increased this year at least with inflation rate

The minimum wage will be indexed on Wednesday, in the Government meeting, by 3.1%, namely 70 lei gross, and the pensions will be increased this year at least by the inflation rate, Minister of Labor Raluca Turcan told private broadcaster Digi 24 Tuesday evening.

Turkish Central Bank revises reserve requirements

The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) on Nov. 27 revised its regulations on reserve requirements to improve the effectiveness of the monetary transmission mechanism in the country.

In line with its main objective of price stability through monetary tightening, the bank decided to simplify its reserve requirement regulations, it underlined in a written statement.

Terna Energy to raise capital via private placement

Terna Energy has decided to boost its capital by €50.1 million through private placement.

The decision will officially be taken at a general assembly on September 1 at company headquarters. If approved, the company will issue 4,556,757 common shares of a nominal value of €0.30 each, which will be distributed via private placement at an expected price of at least €11.
