Fire breaks out in Grevena
The Hellenic Fire Service has responded to a fire near the town of Grevena in northern Greece on Wednesday. According to state broadcaster ERT, the blaze broke out in a wooded area near Kogiadika. There is no reported risk to nearby homes.
There are currently 65 firefighters, 14 vehicles, four helicopters and two aircraft on scene.

Fire breaks out in Kifissia
The Hellenic Fire Service has responded to a fire in the suburb of Kifissia, north of Athens, on Monday that is burning in the area surrounding the old Grand Chalet hotel.
According to information from the scene, the blaze is burning dry grass and garbage located at the back of the hotel. The HFS has stated that there is no risk of the fire spreading to nearby homes.

Chios blaze: Fire service confirms no threat to settlements
A fire broke out near the settlement of Diefcha in the northwestern part of the island of Chios, late on Sunday
As a precautionary measure, a message was sent to the residents of Diefcha and nearby Katavasi through the emergency number 112, instructing them to relocate to the village of Volissos.
The firefighting forces in the region received early reinforcements on Monday.
Minister announces hiring of 500 firefighters to strengthen civil protection
During an interview with newspaper To Vima on Sunday, Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Vassilis Kikilias discussed the forthcoming priorities to enhance Civil Protection.
Kikilias emphasized that their foremost concern is recruiting over 500 new firefighters to provide substantial support during wildfires.

Firefighters battled a 51 new wild fires in the last 24 hours, bring to 96 the total number of active forest fires in the country.
In its latest update, the Fire Service said most of the new fires were tackled immediately in their initial stages.

Istanbul sees record heat of 23 years as country fights wildfires
Istanbul has recorded the highest temperatures in 23 years, with 44.1 degrees on July 26, as the firefighting crews continue to battle massive wildfires in several parts of the country, including a four-day-long one in the southern province of Antalya's Kemer district.
Wildfire breaks out in Evia
A new fire broke out early on Thursday on the island of Evia, in the area of Kymi.
According to the Fire Brigade, the fire was burning mixed forest and farm land near the town's entrance and did not yet pose any threat to residences.
A total of eight fire engines with 17 firefighters as crew, assisted by two firefighting helicopters were battling the blaze.
