Bulgarian PM, IKEA Founder Discuss Opportunities for Business Development

Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov and Ingvar Kamprad, founder and owner of IKEA, discussed the opportunities for business development at a meeting in Sofia on Friday.

Kamprad introduced to Borisov the intentions of the Swedish company to increase its turnover from Bulgaria.

Cabinet Allocates BGN 500 000 for Restoration of First Bulgarian Capital Pliska

The Bulgarian cabinet allocated on Thursday BGN 500 000 for archaeological and restoration works at the first Bulgarian capital of Pliska.

This was announced after a meeting between Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, Regional Minister Lilyana Pavlova, Director of the National Historical Museum (NIM) Bozhidar Dimitrov, the mayor of the nearby town of Kaspichan and archaeologists.

Bulgaria Foreign Ministry Spokesperson to Join Top Media Watchdog

Betina Zhoteva, the spokeswoman for Bulgaria's Foreign Ministry, will be appointed to the Council for Electronic Media (CEM), the Presidency of Bulgaria has said.

Zhoteva was nominated by Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev, who appoints several members of the media regulator alongside Parliament.

It is now taking only 18 minutes with the new subway section in Bulgaria's capital Sofia to move between the city center and the airport.

The new leg leading to Sofia Airport was officially launched Thursday, with the first train departing at 13:00 EEST (11:00 GMT).

The distance has been measured by subway officials from the Serdika station in the center.
