More containers to arrive, 2.6 mln people in tent cities: Soylu

More than 2.6 million quake survivors are staying in tents, and the number of containers will exceed 100,000 within a month, Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu has stated.

Minister Soylu had iftar with quake victims in the tent city in Pazarcık district, the epicenter of the first earthquake that struck on Feb. 6.

Female truck driver travels 4,300 km without rest to bring aid to quake zone

Magnitude 5.2 earthquake jolts southern Turkey

A magnitude 5.2 earthquake jolted Turkey's Mediterranean Antalya province on Dec. 5, according to the country's disaster management agency.

The Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) said the quake occurred at 3.44 p.m. local time (1244 GMT) off the Gazipaşa district. 

It took place at a depth of 77.58 kilometers (48.2 miles), AFAD added.

"I would describe my trip to the zone as a once-in-a-lifetime experience," said Pavel Shumejko from North Macedonia. "I learned a lot about the zone and the accident and got to visit a lot of iconic places, starting from abandoned ruined villages, schools and hospitals to the ghost town of Pripyat."
