After notorious delays, Greece's National Museum of Contemporary Art (EMST) will finally open its permanent exhibition hall to the public on Friday, it was announced yesterday during a press conference headed by Culture Minister Lina Mendoni.

Anna Linardou | Athens | January 31
Anna Linardou will perform songs from her first solo album, "Heterotopia," at Underflow Records & Art Gallery opposite the Syngrou Fix metro station in the center of Athens. Linardou mixes vocal techniques from different music traditions, acoustic and electronic instruments, live sampling and improvisation, which together create a sound free of the bindings of time and space.

Woman rescued from Athens metro tracks
Firemen rescued a woman who had fallen onto the tracks of the Athens metro on Monday morning.
The woman reportedly fell at the Syngrou-Fix metro station during rush hour, according to the ANA-MPA news agency, which did not provide additional details.

Carlsberg buys out rest of Olympic Brewery shares
Danish beer giant Carlsberg announced it has acquired the remaining 49 percent of Olympic Brewery in Greece, following the 2014 merger through which Carlsberg had gained a 51 percent stake in the Greek firm.
