Farmers protesting about soaring production costs and compensation payments are expected to block trucks in two border posts in northern Greece on Thursday, as they continue their mobilizations.
Tractors and protesters will line the road in front of the Niki border crossing with North Macedonia, located outside the town of Florina, and Kipi, which leads to the border with Turkey.

A 54-year-old from the northern city of Florina who was founded in possession of an extensive arsenal of military-grade firearms, ammunition and hand grenades last week has been remanded in custody pending trial.

Participation in the polls at 11.29% at 10:30
The participation rate in the general elections on Sunday was at 11.29% by 10:30 a.m, with 888,995 citizens having cast their vote so far, the Interior Ministry announced. The ministry said it had received figures for participation from 17,130 polling stations, or approximately 80% of the total.

Bad weather has a lot of Greece under its grip, with snowfall and below freezing temperatures.
In the Athens area, mostly in the northern parts, some roads are closed, police warn.
These include: the road to Mt. Parnitha, the Alimou-Katechaki road, Anapafseos Street, in the suburb of Papagou, beyond the cemetery and Fylis and Tatoiou Avenues, northwest of Athens.
