Locally limited visibility and fog at night and early morning in continental areas

Friday's weather forecast paints a varied picture across Bulgaria, with different regions experiencing a mix of conditions ranging from rain showers to snowfall and fog.

Over the next 24 hours, we expect scattered cloudiness over most of the country, ranging from medium to high altitude. During the night, low clouds or fog will form in the valleys and plains, reducing visibility until noon. It will be calm during the night, while during the day, there will be light to moderate southeast winds and northeast winds in the Danubian Plain.

However, after midnight, there will be scattered middle and high-level clouds over Western Bulgaria, while low clouds or fog will form in the valleys and around the water basins. The wind will be weak, mainly coming from the east. Temperatures will range between 2° and 7° in most regions, around 6° in Sofia.

In Southeastern Bulgaria, it will be calm with fog or low clouds in the morning hours. Minimum temperatures will range between 3°C and 8°C, with lower values expected in the higher fields of Southwest Bulgaria, and around 3°C in Sofia.

As Bulgarians gear up for the first day of February, the weather forecast promises mostly sunny conditions with a touch of morning fog in some areas. The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology anticipates light to moderate westerly-northwesterly winds throughout the day.

As Bulgarians wake up on January 24, they can expect mostly sunny weather across the country, with a chance of fog lingering in some areas before noon. According to meteorological reports, a light to moderate westerly wind will accompany the day. The temperature range is set to be chilly, with lows varying from minus 7°C to minus 2°C, reaching around minus 8°C in the capital city Sofia.

Today, in most regions, it will be mostly sunny, but the morning will start frosty, with minimum temperatures between -11° and - 6°, higher along the Black Sea coast. In Sofia, it will be around -9°. In some places in the Danube Plain, there will be fog, but visibility will improve after noon.

As the winter tightens its grip, Western Bulgaria is waking up to a bone-chilling morning on January 22nd. Temperatures are set to dance between minus 8C and minus 3C, dipping even lower in the picturesque valleys. The capital, Sofia, won't be spared either, with the thermometer hovering around a frosty minus 7C.

Several parts of Türkiye are currently under the influence of radiation fog induced by high pressure, an expert has said, warning that the effect of this veil curtailing visibility will prevail for an extended period.
