Ban on the advertising of unhealthy foods and beverages and the involvement of children in the promotion of genetically modified foods. This was decided by MPs at first reading after they voted for amendments to the Food Act, reports Mediapool.

Bulgaria Pushes EU Over Food 'Double Standards'
Bulgarian NGOs and the country's Ombudman petitioned the European Parliament on Monday over the issue of the EU's "double standards" in food, calling for the establishment of either a centralized European body or a network of national control bodies to monitor the quality of foods and beverages sold in the EU.

Over 350 kg of Dangerous Food was Found for Only a Week

Childhood Obesity in Bulgaria Growing at Alarming Rate
Childhood obesity in Bulgaria has increased from 12.3% in 2008 to 13.9% in 2014, a new study among 3,353 children at the age of 7 has showed.
The research was carried out by the National Public Health and Analyses Center and the Regional Health Inspectorates in the country, Bulgarian Telegraph Agency informed.
