Döner shops create monthly $630 million business volume
Some 30,000 shops sell around a total of 900,000 kilograms of traditional döner kebab each day across Turkey, making a great contribution to the local economy, according to the head of a trading group.
"Döner makers are also the main players in the local meat market as they create strong demand," Muhammet Nezif Emek, the head of Döner Shop Owners' Association, told Anadolu Agency.
Greeks stocking up on antiseptic, rice and pasta
It appears Greek consumers will have rice and pasta in their pantries for several months to come, while supermarket data on the sale of flour suggests they are preparing to start baking their own bread. Yasemin Korkut, living in the western province of İzmir, started to sell dried figs, grown in her father's garden, on social media outlets. As demand grew, she decided to enlarge the venture by adding more products.
