Product price reduction starting Friday
Measures combating rising prices will be implemented across 3,000 consumer products from Friday, March 1.
Specifically, the new measures imposed will reduce the discounts enjoyed by supermarket suppliers and transfer reduction to the consumer, who should see a drop in prices of up to 30%.

Competition Council launches food price monitor, meant to help increasing competition and cheapening products
The Competition Council on Tuesday launched the platform "Food Price Monitor," which allows the comparison of more than 30,000 products from 1,700 stores from all over the country, meant to help strengthening competition on this market and cheapening foodstuffs at the most expensive stores.
Supermarket sales up, special offers down
Supermarket revenue during the first half of 2019 rose 3.4 percent compared to the same period last year.
Foodstuffs, especially frozen foods and snacks, accounted for most of that increase.
The quantity, or volume, of sales increased much less, as supermarket chains limited the number of special offers sold in order to boost profitability.

Supermarket sales drop just 1 pct in H1
Sales at Greek supermarkets dipped 1 percent in the first half of the year, data compiled by the IRI research company have revealed, pointing to the smallest decrease since 2015 and a significant improvement from the 8.8 percent drop recorded in the first half of 2016 - attributed in part to the collapse of the Marinopoulos chain.
