Süper Lig title race wide open after derby
Beşiktaş came from behind to beat Turkish Süper Lig leader Galatasaray 3-1 on April 30 night, throwing itself back in the trophy race with six weeks to go.
Argentine star Mauro Icardi put the visiting side ahead in the 20th minute at Vodafone Park, but Romain Saiss leveled the score in the 35th minute.

Türkiye bids to host Euro 2028 or 2032
The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) has submitted a final bid to UEFA to host the 2028 or 2032 editions of the European Football Championships.
"UEFA today received three bid dossiers from member national associations interested in hosting the 2028 and 2032 European Championships," the European football's governing body announced on April 12.

Prosecutor demands up to 23 years for hooligan
A jail term of up to 23 years has been requested for the assailant involved in the tragic incident of last November's İzmir derby for throwing a signal flare.
The derby between the western province of İzmir's rivals, Göztepe and Altay, was suspended when a signal flare was thrown by Altay fan Furkan Ersanlı at the Göztepe stand, injuring a man and two children.

FIFA, UEFA denounce shooting attack at Turkish soccer office
FIFA and UEFA on Sept. 2 condemned a shooting incident at the headquarters of the Turkish soccer association during a board meeting.
Turkish media reported at least seven bullets were fired at the building in Istanbul on Thursday before the shooters escaped in a waiting vehicle. No injuries were reported.

Türkiye favorite pick for Euro 2032: UEFA president
Türkiye is the favorite candidate to host Euro 2032 tournament, UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin has said while talking about Italy's candidacy.
"Türkiye is a big competitor for Euro 2032 and is currently the favorite over Italy," Ceferin said while speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport, one of Italy's leading sports newspapers.
