Stara Zagora football team "Vereya" was removed from the First League because of signals for fixing matches. The decision was taken on Tuesday by the Disciplinary Commission of the Bulgarian Football Union (BFU) after receiving information from the European football central UEFA. Vereya has a seven-day period to appeal against the decision.

PAOK, owned by Greek-Russian oligarch Ivan Savvidis, were crowned champions after beating already relegated Levadiakos 5-0 in the penultimate round of the Super League.

PAOK celebrated on Sunday, and well into Monday morning, the third league title in its history, and the first after 34 years on a historic night at Toumba Stadium of Thessaloniki.
