Ukrainian refugees: Extension of temporary protection in Greece
The Greek Migration and Asylum Minister Dimitris Kairides has decided on a six-month extension for the validity of the temporary protection regime for those displaced from Ukraine, starting Monday.
Bulgaria: National Palace of Culture to light blue for World Refugee Day
The National Palace of Culture (NDK), in Sofia will be lit in the colour blue on the evening of 20 June to mark World Refugee Day. The initiative is part of UNHCR's, the UN Refugee Agency, marking of the international day to honour people who have been forced to flee.

Hojs talks Afghanistan situation with UNHCR official
Ljubljana – Interior Minister Aleš Hojs met via videolink on Wednesday Roland Sebastian Schilling, representative of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) for Central Europe. The pair discussed the situation in Afghanistan, including potential migration and security threats, the ministry said.

We need a global strategy to help forced migrants
Forced migration is different from migration per se. Forced migrants leave their countries due to deadly conflicts. There are about 250 million international migrants - people born outside their countries of residence - in the world today. There are almost 66 million forced migrants, and their number is rising.
