Tehran has warned Athens that if it allows the use of US military bases in Greece in a possible aggression against Iran it will be considered as a "hostile act" to which it will respond "in a clear and decisive manner."

Ankara is taking a traditional "wait and see" position on the recent U.S.-Iran row that escalated with the killing of an Iranian general, Qasem Soleimani, and Tehran's retaliation missile attack on a base in Iraq, according to Prof. Mustafa Aydın of Istanbul's Kadir Has University.

This is what Iran's Ambassador to the United Nations, Majid Takht Ravanchi said when asked whether the missile strikes Iran launched this week mark the end of retaliatory actions against the United States in response to the killing of Iranian General Qasem Soleimani.

Tehran is ready to negotiate on various aspects of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action if Washington returns to the agreement. Iranian Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Majid Takht-Ravanchi, told TASS.

According to him, it is better for the United States to return to the plan and to the negotiations. In that case, Iran will be ready for discussions.

Turkey's national flag carrier Turkish Airlines and Pegasus Airlines on Jan. 8 temporarily suspended its scheduled flights to Iraq and Iran.

Turkish Airlines said that due to tensions between Iran and the U.S., the flights to Iraq and Iran will halt until 9.00 p.m. local time (1800GMT) on Jan. 9.

The airlines' flights will not use the airspace of these two countries, it added.

First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council's Committee on International Affairs Vladimir Jabbarov made this statement after an Iranian attack on military bases with US troops in Iraq.

The Iranian Guard has also threatened to bomb Haifa in Israel and Dubai in the Emirates, the Daily Mail reported.

Iran's Revolutionary Guard, which claimed responsibility for the attack, said the attacks on the bases were "revenge for the killing of top Iranian General, the Quds Unit Commander Qasem Soleimani."
