As the general assembly of the international criminal police organization, Interpol, prepares to vote on Kosovo's membership in Dubai, politicians from both Kosovo and Serbia are hoping their conflicting plans will be confirmed.

Kosovo Foreign Minister Behgjet Pacolli jetted on Sunday to Dubai in a final push to convince member states to support Kosovo's bid.

They discussed "bilateral and economic cooperation between the two countries, the European integration of integration of Serbia and the current situation in the region."

The Kosovo government announced on Tuesday that Pristina has lifted temporary trade barriers introduced on July 18 to protect its domestic produce.

As the debate in Kosovo continues on the political dialogue between two countries, the head of Kosovo's technical delegation, Avni Arifi, has repeated that Kosovo will not take further part in the EU-led dialogue until Serbia implements agreed deals on issues like energy.

An agreement on energy was reached between Serbia and Kosovo in 2015 but has still not been implemented.

A comment issued by the Ministy's Information and Press Department on July 20 noted that the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina is conducted with EU mediation under the UN General Assembly Resolution of September 9, 2010.

Moreover, the Serbian foreign minister continued, the case of Egypt recognizing Kosovo is "not entirely clear" - as there is no written evidence of it.

The interlocutors noted that the potential for renewal of cooperation between the two countries in the field of economy, politics, military and educational cooperation is extremely high, especially since it has been at standstill for many years, the Serbian government announced on its website.
