26 years since the death of Dada Vujasinovic: Investigation still open

The death occurred under unexplained circumstances, it was confirmed by the findings of domestic forensic experts, and the forensic scientists at the Hague Institute.
According to the forensic findings, Dada Vujasinovic's death "may have occurred as a consequence of murder, suicide or accident."

Forensic doctors advisory body recommends avoiding autopsies in coronavirus cases

Autopsies in cases where death was caused by the new coronavirus should be avoided, the Hellenic Society of Forensic Medicine (HSFM) recommended on Thursday following the first death recorded in Greece of the pandemic.

In cases of confirmed infection, HSFM said, the death certificate should be issued without an autopsy, while cases of suspected infection should be tested after death.

Man gunned down in western Athens, in critical condition

A man who was gunned down in his car in the western Athenian suburb of Haidari on Tuesday, in a possible organized crime turf war, is in critical condition at the capital's Attiko general hospital.
The businessman is believed to be involved in illegal gambling activities and may have been targeted by a rival gang, initial investigations have indicated.

DIICOT requests FBI aid for DNA examination in Luiza Melencu case (Caracal file)

The Directorate for Investigating Organised Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) has requested the aid of the Federal Investigation Bureau (FBI, US) to conduct a genetic examination that would determine the genetic profile (DNA) in the Luiza Melencu case, but also to establish the psychological/behavioural profile of Gheorghe Dinca, the suspect in the Caracal crimes' case.

Hand grenade found near Menidi school

A hand grenade found in Menidi, northern Athens, on Saturday was removed from the area by officers of the Hellenic Army's specialist bomb disposal unit while police launched an investigation into its provenance.
The grenade was found on the corner of Liosion and Aristotelous streets, near a primary school, police said.
It was to be examined by forensic experts.
