A flawless Charles Leclerc led from start to finish to steer his Ferrari to an action-packed win at the Australian Grand Prix yesterday with world champion Max Verstappen failing to finish.

Mercedes driver Valtteri Bottas claimed his first chequered flag of the season to win the Turkish Grand Prix on Oct. 10 as Max Verstappen reclaimed the lead in the title race.     

The Red Bull driver finished second to take a six-point lead in the championship ahead of Bottas' teammate Lewis Hamilton who could only finish fifth.     

Formula One on Aug. 28 announced a revised calendar for the rest of the 2021 season, following the cancellation of the Japanese Grand Prix due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The new schedule will have 22 races - a record number of races in one season - with some of the events shifted to new dates.

The Turkish Grand Prix has been added to the Formula One calendar on October 3, replacing the cancelled Singapore Grand Prix, the world championship promoter announced on June 25.

The Turkish GP was first added to the calendar for June 13, replacing Canada, but was cancelled in the face of coronavirus travel restrictions.

The Turkish Grand Prix in the 2021 Formula One World Championship scheduled for June has been canceled, it was announced on May 14. 

"Formula 1 has provided an update on the 2021 race calendar, with new Covid-19 travel restrictions meaning it's no longer possible to race in Turkey on June 11-13," Formula One said in a statement.

Red Bull's Max Verstappen took his first win of the year in a chaotic, incident-strewn Emilia Romagna Grand Prix as Lewis Hamilton fought back to second after a rare error.

Rain at the start led to one of the most frantic races in memory as the treacherous conditions caught out the vast majority of drivers at one time or another.

The Turkish Grand Prix in the Formula 1 has taken the majority of the fans' votes to be the best race of the year, the organizers said on Dec. 24. 

"That's right, you chose the Turkish Grand Prix as your best race of the year," Formula 1 said on its website.

Held on November 15, the Turkish Grand Prix had the 33% of the votes to win the polls.
