The New Symphony Orchestra is dedicating its first concert to be held after the enforced break caused by the Covid-19 pandemic to the memory of former United States ambassador James Pardew, who died on June 2.
The NSO said that Pardew, a member of the orchestra's honorary board, had been one of its most loyal supporters.
The Olympic Hall's Christmas Theater holiday program kicks off the new year with the Franz Lehar Orchestra of Vienna and dancers from the Vienna Opera performing a selection of waltzes. Shows start at 8 p.m. and tickets (from www.viva.gr and tel 11876) cost 18-60 euros.
Greek National Opera singers will perform a medley of songs from well-known operettas at To Treno sto Rouf. The program includes pieces by Johann Strauss, Theofrastos Sakellaridis and Franz Lehar, among others. Performances take place on Wednesday, December 21 and December 28, at 9.30 p.m. Admission is set at 12 euros.
