Freedom House: Corruption is still the Main Issue in Bulgaria

Bulgaria is classified as a "free" country in the latest Freedom House report on democracy and freedoms around the world.

Bulgaria has 79 points out of 100, one point more than last year (78). According to the rating for political rights, Bulgaria has 33 points out of 40 possible, and according to the rating for civil liberties - 40 out of 60 possible.

Bulgaria Retained Its Level of Freedom in 2015 - Freedom House

According to the latest Freedom in the World report of Freedom House released on Wednesday, freedom in Bulgaria did not make a progress in 2015.

Bulgaria continued to be identified as a free country, with a freedom rating of 2 on a scale from 1 to 7 where 1 represent most free and 7 stands for least free.

Turkey's shameful press freedom record

It was in 2014 when the Freedom House decreased Turkey?s press freedom status from partly free to not free as a result of sharp deterioration in press freedom in 2013. Today, Turkey, along with its Middle Eastern, African, Gulf and many close and far Asian neighbors, enjoy the category of ?Not Free? in the media freedom.

Freedom House on political rights, civil liberties in Serbia

WASHINGTON - In the latest report on political rights and civil liberties by Washington-based NGO Freedom House, Serbia earned grade two, on the scale from one to seven, with one signifying the highest degree of freedom.

Among 195 countries, Serbia earned grade two, the same as last year, as regards political freedoms and respect of civil rights.
