Acclaimed Greek filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos’s latest project, “Bugonia,” will premiere in US theaters in November 2025.

In the southern province of Antalya's Alanya district, which has become Türkiye's tropical fruit production hub, producers have shifted their focus to avocados due to their lower maintenance costs and higher income compared to bananas.

The orchard areas in the country for the period 2007 to mid 2017 increased threefold to 678,207 acres, compared to 283,610 decares ten years ago. This shows the latest data on the structure of the fruit plantations in Bulgaria presented by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry, writes sinor.bg. The survey is conducted every five years in the Member States of the European Union.

A relatively brief but violent hail storm Tuesday in the region of Velvedo in Kozani, northern Greece, destroyed an estimated 70 percent of the area's fruit crop, according to local authorities, who said that the destruction has left farmers in despair.
