Russia could discuss Turkish proposal to ease tomato ban: Minister
Russia could discuss Turkey's proposal to partially lift a ban on tomato supplies to Russia if Moscow is sure that it would not harm its domestic production or investors, Russian Agriculture Minister Alexander Tkachev told Reuters on June 1.
New Grape Varieties Released by a Bulgarian Institute in Rousse
Two new wine grape varieties were developed and released by the "Obraztsov Chiflik" Institute of Agriculture and Seeds in Bulgarian city of Rousse (on the Danube river) in the past year, according to BNT.
The new grape varieties are of excellent qualities, and the scientists hope to be well received by farmers.
No problem in Turkey's tomato exports to Iraq: Ministry
The Turkish Economy Ministry has said Iraq's decision to ban tomato imports is "seasonal and routine" and will not have any negative impact specifically on Turkey's tomato exports to the country.

The tomato issue
It was the tomato that left its mark on the meeting at Sochi between President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Russian President Vladimir Putin. It was announced that the two leaders were able to reach a consensus on a complicated and critical matter like Syria but were not able to agree on the one issue on tomatoes.

Hail storm destroys Kozani fruit crop
A relatively brief but violent hail storm Tuesday in the region of Velvedo in Kozani, northern Greece, destroyed an estimated 70 percent of the area's fruit crop, according to local authorities, who said that the destruction has left farmers in despair.

Commissioner Hogan describes Teran decision as reasonable compromise

The forum will give huge publicity to Bulgarian wine and to Bulgaria itself as a wine-producing country, the cabinet has said in a statement.

Bulgaria to Host 40th World Congress of Vine and Wine
Bulgaria will host in parallel the 40th World Congress of Vine and Wine and the 15th General Assembly of the International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV) next year, the country's Agriculture Ministry has announced.
The decision was taken by a vote of OIV member states at a meeting of the organisation's Executive Committee in Paris on Saturday.
