The Greek bourse saw another mixed session with limited action on Tuesday, as turnover showed some improvement and the benchmark stayed afloat without managing to get a firm grip on the 600-point level it had reached during the day.

After a mixed session with gains for most stocks and banks leading the losers, the benchmark at Athinon Avenue reported marginal growth on Thursday, based on corporate developments.

Traders' reaction on Tuesday to two sessions of significant losses for stocks was encouraging for the benchmark and blue chips, but rather disappointing in terms of turnover. The market appears to be waiting for Moody's verdict on the economy on Friday.

Athinon Avenue experienced a mixed day on Wednesday following a number of sessions during which trends were clear, with the benchmark showing moderate gains as the banks index lost some ground.

The stocks of banks and Coca-Cola HBC lost ground on Thursday, inflicting losses on the benchmark as the market appears reluctant to head higher without any significant developments that would trigger the final push to the main index's 1,000-point mark.

OTE telecom was the protagonist in Wednesday's bourse session following the issue of its 2019 financial results that showed a rise in profits, leading to 2.32 percent growth for its stock while accounting for over two-fifths of all of the day's trading. That helped the benchmark at Athinon Avenue record its first day of gains this week.

Stocks in the Greek bourse were once again swayed by banks that dragged the market lower on Tuesday, accelerating the benchmark's decline toward the 900-point mark.

The Athens Exchange (ATHEX) general index ended at 911.82 points, shedding 0.86 percent from Monday's 919.77 points. The large-cap FTSE 25 index contracted 0.95 percent to 2,291.80 points.

After a particularly quiet session on the Greek bourse, with the lowest turnover of the last four-and-a-half months, the benchmark at Athinon Avenue ended its four-day rising streak on Monday with a slight decline, mainly due to the bank losses.

The benchmark at Athinon Avenue proved unable to hold on to most of the gains it had recorded during the day on Wednesday, in line with the majority of other eurozone bourses. It presented a mixed picture at the end of the session, with rising stocks narrowly edging out the losers on a day when the bond market dominated investor interest.

A number of Athens-listed companies are planning to take part in a new wave of bond issues, aiming to make the most of the favorable climate in the market and the improvement in investor confidence in Greece.
