The President of the Constitutional Court of Romania (CCR), Valer Dorneanu, told Thursday evening private television broadcaster Antena3, that the fundamental human rights cannot be affected by an emergency ordinance, and that the measures on the restriction of fundamental rights and freedoms to be valid, a law should have been drafted.

Chairman of the National Liberal Party (PNL), Prime Minister Ludovic Orban, said on Monday that the authorities have taken efficient action in the Ditrau (Harghita County) case and that compliance with the law and the fundamental rights and freedoms of the citizens are being pursued in this situation.

''As holder of the rotation presidency of the Council of the European Union in 2018, Bulgaria will be actve cooperating for the sake of a unified vision about the future of the Union'', said Bulgarian National Assembly President Dimitar Glavchev addressing the participants of the Conference of the speakers of European national parliaments underway in Bratislava, Slovakia, BNR reported.

Measures to be taken to increase the security of citizens must be in full compliance with universal fundamental rights and freedoms, as well as European standards, a senior EU official has said, calling on the Turkish government to set up an independent and genuine law enforcement monitoring mechanism.
