Turkey's newly-appointed Defense Minister Yasar Guler has vowed to protect his country's interests and the "Blue Homeland," a revisionist doctrine expressing Ankara's expansionist ambitions in the Aegean.

An exhibition, titled 'History is Looking at You: Archeology in Ara Güler's Photographs,' displaying archeology photographs by late photography artist Ara Güler, was opened at the Turkish Archeology and Cultural Heritage Institute in the southeastern province of Gaziantep. The exhibition will run through Sept 1.

A virtual exhibition is set to present scores of works by Ara Güler, a renowned Turkish photographer who passed away in 2018.

The Ara Güler Universal Virtual Exhibition will open for art aficionados on Dec. 16 and a total of 180 photographs will be exhibited.

Visioncy, which supports the cultural development of Kuala Lumpur through collaborations with international and local entities, has announced that it will launch an inaugural virtual exhibition to showcase the lifetime achievements of Ara Güler during his 60 years of travels, hard work and dedication to photography.

An exhibition by Turkey's celebrated late photographer Ara Güler on the western province of İzmir will be greeting its online audience with "merhaba," which means "hello" in Turkish and was one of his favorite words that he used throughout his life.

Turkey on Oct. 17 commemorated Ara Güler at his first death anniversary.
