Netherlands Has Granted Asylum to More Than 70% of Turkish Coup Suspects Since 2016

The Netherlands has granted asylum to 73 percent of Turkish suspects linked to the Gülen network, widely accused to have orchestrated the deadly coup attempt on July 15, 2016, according to a report on Feb. 21 by the BBC's Turkish service, Hurriyet reported.

German police on Feb. 15 raided the apartments of four imams suspected of conducting espionage on behalf of the Turkish government against followers of U.S.-based Islamic preacher Fethullah Gülen, which Ankara accuses of organizing the failed coup attempt on July 15, 2016. 

Former Central Bank employees detained in anti-Gülen operation

At least 27 former employees of the Turkish Central Bank have been detained as part an investigation launched into alleged members of the movement of Fethullah Gülen, the main suspect behind the July 15, 2016 coup attempt, along with several others from the Public Procurement Authority (KİK).
