A Code Yellow Warning for Strong Winds Issued for all Bulgarian Regions

A Code Yellow warning for strong winds has been issued for Bulgaria for 24 February, the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) said on its website.
Strong and stormy winds will blow in all regions around noon and in the afternoon, with gusts of 20 m/s to 25 m/s.

A Code Orange Warning for Rough Seas and Strong Winds in the Sea Issued fo Burgas, Code Yellow Warning for Varna and Dobrich

A Code Orange warning for rough seas and strong winds in the sea has been issued for Burgas region, the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) said on its website. The NIMH has warned of wind in the sea of about 14-19 m/s (7 - 8 Beaufort) with gusts up to 20-24 m/s (8 - 9 Beaufort). Sea state code: 4-5.

Squalls herald change in weather

A rainbow arcs over Athens on Thursday afternoon, following a brief but heavy shower. Meteorologists warned of storms in Athens and other parts of the country on Friday, as a wet front swept in from the west, causing flooding on the islands of the Ionian on Thursday. Sailors and ferryboat passengers planning to travel in the Aegean are also advised to check weather forecasts for gale warnings.

8 People Injured After Wind Blows a Train Carriage off the Rails in Switzerland (Video)

In Switzerland eight people were injured when strong winds blew a train carriage off the rails on Wednesday. The accident happened near Lenk on the Montreux Oberland Bernois regional service at around midday.

A police spokesman said seven people with slight injuries were taken to hospital in ambulances while the eighth was flown by helicopter.
